Arboreal Ballet | An Original Wet Cyanotype Print
A unique, original wet Cyanotype featuring delicate acer leaves captured in an ethereal dance. The pale colour and sharp shapes of the leaves drift across a wash of shifting soft blue tones.
The atmospheric background and colour shifts are achieved by manipulation of the wet Cyanotype before sun exposure. The result is an organic, textured background with shifts of blue with contrasting Japanese maple shapes.
Arboreal Ballet has a sense of gentle movement and depth, a contemplative image.
This print is a handmade original wet Cyanotype. Archival watercolour paper is coated in the light-sensitive solution, and the botanicals are carefully composed directly on the surface before exposure to sunlight. The moisture and chemistry creates textures, colour changes, and tonal variations, it’s a truly one-of-a-kind image.
