About the Process
This print is a handmade original Wet Cyanotype, created using this photosensitive process invented in the 19th century.
To create this piece, archival watercolour paper is coated in the light-sensitive solution, and the botanicals are carefully composed directly on the surface. Soapy suds, diluted vinegar, and other solutions are applied before exposure to sunlight. This unpredictable addition of moisture and chemistry creates the stunning, organic textures, mottled greens, and deep tonal variations, ensuring that this truly one-of-a-kind image can never be replicated.
