This shade is a unique botanical artwork, handcrafted in my Shrewsbury studio. An original wet Cyanotype on silk featuring an energetic and captivating design of mixed ferns.
Exposed to sunlight on a very hot day, the silk and Cyanotype solution reacted to create ripples, rich textures, and colour shifts from deep dark blues to light blue and flecks of green, it’s a truly striking one-off piece.
This lampshade is unique and meticulously crafted, a captivity centrepiece for any interior contemporary or traditional.
The handmade, distinctive polished metal globe base was hand forged in Ayrshire, Scotland. Its spherical form perfectly balances the shape of shade, and its aged metallic finish adds timeless character to this heirloom-quality piece.
