This shade is a one-of-a-kind botanical artwork, handmade in my Shrewsbury studio. An original wet Cyanotype on silk with a distinctive composition of ferns, a display of visual elegance, intricacies, and interactions.
Exposed to sunlight on a hot day, the silk and Cyanotype solution reacted to give textures, and colour shifts with flecks of lighter blues and green on Prussian blue background, making this a truly striking one-off piece.
This lampshade is unique and meticulously crafted and is an impressive statement piece to any interior, contemporary or tradition.
The graceful handmade metal base was forged in Ayrshire, Scotland. Its sophisticated form is the perfect partner for this lampshade, and the aged metallic finish adds timeless character to this heirloom-quality piece.
